THURSDAY Alot of planning went into this event and was hard to juggle around working full time as a chef and running TLR also full time in a way. Things came together with the help of alot of people , who i will mention below. I woke up early on Thursday morning feeling good, but i was nervous that the team shirts would not arrive. I waited till 10 am rang the company that i ordered from on the recommendation of Tong aka gomez from our friends Twistedplay they said thats the shirts had been sent and was on the way. 11am came after having a shower and my dog went crazy, this usually means someone is at the door. I was lucky that i got there cause TNT the delivery service was about to leave, the shirts had arrived and we was all set. I set off and got to the airport around 1pm, check in was quick and easy and was impressed with how quick things went, flight was 1 hour but the bad thing after that was the 2 hour train journey. I met ROY and Sander for the first time and as there are online they was really nice guys, they picked me up from the station and we went to the event where i met Danny, Rody and Robert. Eventually we started the bootcamp, playing Reason and Fnatic, the guys was looking very good and seemed up for the event, communication was good , there was just a few technical problems with the computers, which i am sure the crossfire admins would fix but the next day. For myself there wasn't alot to do apart from get myself in a horrible mess like alot of the other players on the first night here lol. FRIDAY Waking up in the morning after a great sleep we got ready and changed to go get some food and head back to the lan center. The trip as always is adventurous in ROYS car to say the least. We got lost a few times but made it to a supermarket and eventually to the lan center. The weather is pretty cold at the moment, alot like the UK . Snowing but glad i am inside. Our first game is at 2pm , which i am sure we will do well. Game 1 finished with a score of 13-4 a very nice win with the guys playing really well. They play against a nice set of lads from the UK called Reclusion , there team was more in the mood of drinking than playing lol. Game 2 came around and the final 1 of the day against Esuba , a very close game ending 12-12 , they was a hard opponent and we expected something so close. The games as i said have finished for the day now and the lads are chilling out having a beer and food ready for the following day. We left the event quite early to go back and watch some of the games on quadv but was a little problem with the stream of Quadv being pretty bad. I think my personal views on this is that quadv have done a great job on the event and are working very hard but I personally think that they have suffered by using Ustream for the streaming. In the past they have used there own host for the stream which has been more stable, whether they will revert to that again would be good to see. SATURDAY After a great sleep and shower we set off for the event again. We was due to start at 12pm, but because of delays never setup till around 1.45pm, we have Universal Soldiers first and information on the results will follow. Ended up being a close game with TLR winning 13-11. There was alot of banter in the game, but at the end everything was very friendly. Straight after that our next game was Team Infinite on Crossfire that seemed a easy game winning 13-3, at this point i had sank a few beers the stress was showing lol. Next up we moved to a game that i am sure the lads was very wary and that team being Ox-Gaming from Italy. We faced them on Crash and it was a very close match as expected and the final score was 12-12 after OX-Gaming going 12-9 up needing 1 more round to knock us out. The bad thing for us about this result put us finishing 2nd in the group meaning we ended up facing a seeded team. That team was H2K-Gaming. Speaking the the lads this team for us was a bogey team, meaning no matter what happens we always seem to loose. So as it showed we went into the game with a lack of confidence. The final score ended TLR.Cod4's involvement at Crossfire Intel Challenge with a loss of 2-0 on maps. There was alot to learn from the event and alot of stuff gained as individuals and as a team. Without our sponsors this event would not be possible, so Our thanks goes out to Joe from the Gaming Collection for his continued support, Zowie and Quick Energy drink.
