Can you introduce yourself for the people that don't know you and tell us a little about yourself?

Hey my names Matt aka deathdisco. I’m 23 and a freelance sound engineer and also work at a TV production company.

Please explain your role in the team and also the players within the CSS line-up?

I'm the teams lead awper and out of game leader. Macky has recently taken over calling in game as it gives me more time to concentrate on own game. Carrel, Tucker and Peakz are our riflers and our big fraggers.

Tell us the future for the line-up both LAN and league wise for this line-up?

We're attending i39 - thanks to TLR - and we're hoping to attend a few European LANs in the summer. League-wise we're currently playing in the ESEA invite, though there have been a lot of rearranged games and defaults so the league has been a bit slow for us.

What’s your opinion of the UK scene and the CSS scene in general at this time?

I don't think the UK scene is as strong as it was say a year ago. However, I think once EPS comes back we'll see a few new UK teams put together and it could make the UK scene a bit more interesting again. In general, CSS appears to still be going strong despite the dip in the amount of teams playing over the winter period.

This line-up seems to be very active, keen and wanting to go for it, would you say this is one of the strongest line-ups you've been a part of?

We are as active as we can be; balancing the game with work and socialising can be difficult at times when people's schedules clash. I would say this is possibly the strongest line-up I’ve been in since i34 and expect we will do well.

What are your thoughts about the new TLR website, being part of the organisation and the way they are moving forward into 2010?

We all appreciate the efforts of the management at TLR and the new website sets the tone for the rest of the year with TLR looking to improve on the previous years.

In a lot of interviews recently we have seen discussions about the CGS, can you give us your own views?

The CGS began around about the same time I started to play competitively in css. It did give some inspiration to play, but I think the CGS discussion has been run into the ground now and its better it is just laid to rest. I don't think gaming will be successfully transferred to mainstream TV anytime in the close future.

The ESL is doing a lot for the UK with its pro series; we see leagues such as Enemydown, Eurokreig and thesgl which have had successful CSS spells before. What are your thoughts of how they can make 2010 a successful year?

I think CSS is going to see some competition from CSProMod in the coming months. Leagues are going to have to continue to support css like they have for the last few years in order to maintain interest in the competitive side. Leagues needs to pay out the prize money owed as some leagues are taking much longer than expected, and ultimately this could result in team boycotting those leagues.

Question from tucker - What do think of the highly publicised CSPromod 1.04 beta release, will the team be trying it and do you think it will take off and bring the css/cs 1.6 communities together?

Having played the game, it looks like the start of something new and exciting as long as the developers listen to the players and iron out the gripes that people have – the models and hit-boxes being the major one. I think the fate of it really depends on leagues and LANs supporting the game. If css and 1.6 continue to get used for leagues and LANs then the success of promod will be minimal. Having said that I think it will definitely be worth trying out and I’m sure we will have a few games on it.

Question from raii - with players constantly watching demos of the top teams and trying to emulate them, is it had for you as a caller to create new and exciting tactics that hasn't been seen or done before?

I have since passed on the calling reigns to Macky. From experience, I have found it’s better to play on the fly and rely on aim more to keep the dynamics of the team fresh. I think you can easily get too caught up too much in anti-stratting the opposing team that it affects your own gameplay.

Question from debaser-why do you always fail when i am not in the team?

No matter if you're in the team or not, 7/8th is our destined position. Though the level of sarcasm does drop when you’re not around ;D.

Question from osh - what were your first impressions of me

The first time i met osh was at i33 and during the infamous "switchem" interview. The next time I met osh was at cluk21 when he was a bit worse for wear and doing superhero poses with rolo. I still think he's a bit nuts.

Any shoutouts?

Shoutouts go to our sponsors thegamingcollection, icy-box, keysonic, verygames and zowie as well as chef and the rest of the management for their continued hard work.
